Police: Parents gave newborn daughter drugs to hide infant’s addiction

( CNN) A couple in Utah told police they yielded their newborn daughter a sting prescription in research hospitals to cover up the facts of the case that the child was birth addicted to drugs.

Colby Glen Wilde, 29, and Lacey Dawn Christenson, 26, both of Elk Ridge, caused their daughter Suboxone, a prescription tendernes remedy used for pain management and addiction therapy, on the working day she was born, according to a press release from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators learned that Christenson had been using heroin and prescription anguish remedy heavily during her pregnancy, leading to the child being born addicted to the stimulants, the press release alleged.
